What kind of game is it?
It's a fast, arcade-style first-person shooter, and you can also switch to third person. You pick a gang, build a loadout, and fight other players for control of Chicago neighborhoods. Matches are short and chaotic, and the humor is crude on purpose. Reviewers keep comparing it to the older Call of Duty games.

The developer's store page says the game is fiction and does not promote or condone real gang violence.

Only on Windows PC through Steam. There's no PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch, mobile or Mac version, and none has been announced. It also runs on Steam Deck through Proton, according to players, though Valve hasn't rated it yet. Who made Hood Warfare 2?
Trapstar Games (TrapStar Games on its own site) made and published the game. The indie studio describes its games as "street-level shooters with no filter". Its first game, Hood Warfare, came out in Early Access on Steam on January 26, 2023 for $4.99 and was set in Detroit, with three rival gangs fighting over the city. The sequel moves the war to Chicago.
The developer signs its Steam posts "Trap$tar" and hasn't said who owns the studio, where it's based or how many people work on the game. Is it worth $5.99?
If you want a cheap, silly shooter to play with friends, most players say yes. If you want a polished competitive FPS, probably not yet: the most common complaints are cheaters, spawn killing, and laggy matches that keep switching hosts. Our review covers what players like and dislike, the player count, and whether the game is safe and real.
